New Delhi, Jan 10: It seems like the growing rift in Mulayam Singh Yadav's family is likely to cost the ruling Samajwadi Party badly in the upcoming 2017 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Despite launching mega projects like Metro and expressway, the Akhilesh Yadav government failed to deliver at the crucial end of its term.
Be it agriculture department, public works department, administration work or government scheme, the ruling Samajwadi party proved to be a failure on all fronts.
The power struggle between Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav in the Samajwadi Party has affected the work at district headquarters. Though now the code of conduct is effective but before January 4 inspection and review of ministries and the important department were not being carried by CM Akhilesh.
He has lost control over administration after political war broke in the Yadav clan. The monthly review meetings of commissioners by CM ceased for past few months.
According to a source in CM office, most of the transfers postings of key officials secreted more chaos as District Magistrate's (DM) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) were either removed or posted on political consideration of bureaucrats close to Akhilesh and Ram Gopal group and bureaucrats close to Mulayam and Shivpal further created divisions in government.
Finally, such lobbies of bureaucrats within government resulted in confusion and affected even the normal functioning of the secretariat.
Even the work by PWD mostly construction of roads severely affected as the department was looked by then minister of PWD and irrigation, Shivpal Yadav. The workers are not even paid their salaries after removal of Shivpal, most of the work has stopped.
The release of funds from ministries for most of the state have also affected. It is clearly evident that cycle has gone "off track" and people of Uttar Pradesh feeling cheated as the Akhilesh government has apparently "failed" on all fronts.
