New Delhi, January 9: Soldiers of the country are the pride of the nation who guard the borders 24X7 while people safely celebrate festivals and are able to sleep at night at their homes. They stand at borders in rain, in snow, in storm, and what not!
However, a series of videos shared by a Border Security Force jawan on his Facebook page have put the nation to shame. Without caring for what happens with him later, Tej Bahadur Yadav of 29th battalion of the BSF in Jammu and Kashmir has come out of the box to speak about the deplorable conditions the jawans have to work in.
Sharing the difficulties of life at the border, he has live shot the videos of the food they are served after working a shift of 10-hours. In the video, you can see the watery 'dal' and burnt chapattis they have to eat for lunch for a week. He says that the dal is just a mix of water, turmeric, salt and lentils.
In the breakfast, the jawans are served paranthas which actually look nothing like it with a cup of tea. Tej Bahadur Yadav explains that it is not because of the cook but the corruption at top-level because of which officials are unable to buy groceries to feed the soldiers proper food.
He has appealed to the people of India to share the video massively so that it reaches the government. Yadav has openly stated that he does not know what might happen to him after posting these videos, hinting that officers might take action against him.
It clearly shows that senior officers are exploiting the money which is allocated for the forces. The videos will pain the heart of every Indian and this indeed should stop right away. Jawans are the pride of the nation and food is one of the basic rights they deserve.
