New Delhi, January 11: In the biggest ever sex scandal which has rocked American news industry, a top female anchor has revealed that she was pressured by his Fox News boss for years to sleep with him. She was threatened by Fox News Co-president Bill O’Reilly who simply conveyed her …either to have sex or be destroyed forever.
Earlier Fox News Chairman, Roger Ailes was sacked for being involved in several cases related to sexual harassment. Read the story further.
The employee Juliet Huddy accused O'Reilly of repeatedly forcing her to maintain a sexual relationship with him. On refusal, he offered her huge sum of money to hide the fact and threatened to derail her career.
In a draft of her letter to Fox News, Huddy claimed that O'Reilly used to make repeated calls to her, which sounded like him masturbating on the other side. As alleged, O'Reilly even invited her to his house at Long Island, took her to dinner and theatre, tried to kiss her and appeared at her door in his boxer shorts.
The company and Mr O’Reilly’s lawyer have dubbed her allegations to be false.
“The letter contains substantial falsehoods, which both men have vehemently denied,” Irena Briganti, a spokeswoman for Fox News, said in a statement.
“There is absolutely no basis for any claim of sexual harassment against Bill O’Reilly by Juliet Huddy,” lawyer for O'Reilly said.
O'Reilly had earlier also settled a sexual harassment claim in 2004 with a former producer of his program, Andrea Mackris, six years before his divorce with the wife.
Mockris had alleged that O'Reilly made unwanted advances and engaged in sexually explicit phone conversations with her.
Her allegations were similar to Huddy, that he used to masturbate on the phone while talking to them.
Juliet Huddy had ended ties with Fox News in 2012 saying she want to start a website covering the music industry.
