New Delhi, January 9: Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal was leaving after a public address on Sunday when some unidentified public started pelting stones and bottles on his convoy.
The incident happened in Jalalabad in Fazilka district. The miscreants were allegedly a group of unemployed youth.
Three police vehicles were damaged in the attack. A special branch officer Amarjit Singh was inside one of the vehicles when it was attacked.
Meanwhile, Badal junior who is a Z-plus protectee escaped unhurt and that too without any damage to his vehicle.
Police refused to comment that whether the attack was carried out by any political outfit. Both the person and motive behind the attack is unknown.
