New Delhi, April 21: In a tragic incident in Madhya Pradesh, a groom accidently killed a 10-year-old boy of bride's side when he was performing a wedding ritual with a sword.
The incident took place at a wedding in Rampura village of Neemuch district on Thursday night. The wedding was called off by the bride's family following the incident.
In the ritual, the groom was supposed to cut the leaves of a tree by using a sword. However, he could not control the sword and it accidently slashed the boy's belly, killing him soon.
The boy was a cousin of the bride. He was rushed to a district hospital about 60 km from the village where he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.
A case has been registered in connection but no arrest has been made so far.
A probe has been launched into the incident. The groom is likely to be booked under relevant IPC provisions for culpable homicide.
